This past Saturday, Ryan and I decided that we where going to take my little sisters as well as the rest of his family that was in town for the weekend up to Corolla to spend the day at the beach. Everyone was excited to go, especially my sisters...they love going to the beach...I know big shocker there. On the way there though I got a little annoyed with Ryan because he kept telling my sisters that they where going to see the wild horses while we where at the beach. I kept trying to explain to him that you don't always get to see the horses and I didn't want him to get their hopes up. Needless to say the day was absolutely perfect. The weather was perfect with a nice gentle breeze and the water was absolutely amazing and warm. The kids even got lucky because we happened to park in a perfect spot for when the tide came up. A little pool area formed right behind our cars and the kids spent the rest of the afternoon playing there....did I say kids I should say the adults too. The adults where trying to teach the kids how to skim on the water. Lets just say, I didn't take pictures of this b/c it wasn't pretty! I think all of the adults realized that they aren't kids anymore...haha. We also had free entertainment all day w/ watching all of the moronic tourist try to drive on the beach and get stuck. I don't know where these people come from that think "Gee I see all of these trucks driving on the beach...our car should be able to do the same." Thankful for these moronic tourists there are considerate locals that are willing to show a little Southern Hospitality and help pull them from being stuck! Anyways back to our interesting experience, so it was getting close to the time that we where going to pack up and head in for the day and sure enough as I had told Ryan, we hadn't seen a single horse all day long. The girls seemed a little disappointed, but I explained that maybe the next time that we came that they would see them. Just then, Ryan's aunt tells us that she was looking up at the dunes and saw a horse! The kids get completely excited and everyone walks up to the dunes in order to get a better look. Needless to say it was a perfect end to an already perfect day. Here are some pictures from the day.
