~ Woodard Family Update ~

So it has been quite a while since my last post. I am going to try now and catch ya'll up on everything.

So I guess the first place to start is my NEW job. I had originally applied for this particular job just a mere two weeks after having Kallie, but at the time they had gone with another applicant. And to say that I was shocked when I got the phone call the beginning of January that they where wondering if I was still interested in the position, would be a major understatement! So long story short...I am now a Public Information Assistant for the Dare County Department of Social Services. I never have a dull moment and I am constantly entertained by some of our regular clients. The job will also allow me the opportunity to eventually move up to caseworker positions, which is ultimately what I would love to do.

The next big event that happened in our family was the very BIG birthday for Ryan. He felt like the world was going to end and that he was soooo old at the very YOUNG age of 30. We started off his birthday celebration with a family dinner the Sunday before at Mako Mike's. My family and his all came together to celebrate. Coincidentally that same night, Kallie rolled over for the first time ever and at first she seemed frightened by this event, but now she does it like it's nothing. The second part of his celebration was his surprise party that I planned for him w/ all of our friends in attendance. The evening consisted of a dinner and then drinks afterwards on Granby Street.

Then we had my baby sister Genna's 5th birthday party...it was a PIRATE theme and turned out amazing. The kids had a blast and I think some of the adults had just as much fun joining in on the festivities. I think the coolest part of her party was the cupcake cake that I made into a skull and cross bones.

The next event was my 24th birthday. I was fortunate to have my birthday fall on a Saturday this year. During the day Ryan and I took Kallie to the beach for the very first time. She really seemed to enjoy the feel of the sand in between her toes. After spending the day with the munchkin, Ryan and I went out to eat at Tortuga's! After dinner we then met up with all of my girlfriends and the other birthday girl, Sarah, at Kwan's for some drinks.

This is basically all that has been happening in our busy lives. A little update on Kallie...she went to the doctor at the beginning of March (5 month's old) and we found out that she is 15lbs and about 24" long. She is in the 50th percentile in her weight and the 20th percentile in her hight....basically short and plump. The doctor says that she is doing great and that she was amazed at the fact that she was already sitting up by herself with support for extended periods of time. She has become quite the little chatter box these days and is so much more interactive. She has even been eating baby rice cereal and has tried out and LOVED some pureed fruits and veggies.

I promise that I will try to update this more frequently, but for now I will say bye.
